The ships senior officers worked dined and held meetings in the wardroom. The work was mostly administrative (paperwork) and supervisory. The Captain shared this space with the two Department Heads (Deck and Engineering) who were Chief Petty Officers. With the exception of the ships desk which was removed to make room for the display case, the wardroom looks much the same as it did in 1950. The scuttle in the forward bulkhead to the left of the television allows food and dishes to be passed from the galley directly to the wardroom. The passage beyond the watertight door leads to the officers staterooms.
