The engine room contains the ships steam turbine engines used to power the ships movement; it contains one high pressure and one low pressure turbine per shaft. This produces 3100 shaft horse power per shaft, for a total shaft horse power of 6200.
The high pressure turbines move the ship forward up to 20 knots, and the low pressure turbines move the ship backwards up to 6 knots.
At the forward end of this space you will see the ships throttles and the engine room control board, along with the ships main electrical switch board.
