The deck immediately below the crews berthing contains the workshop, parts storage and reefer spaces. The ship contained two walk-in reefers for dairy and vegetables, plus a meat freezer. Since the duty was considered isolated, the food was top quality and of sufficient quantity to last for more than a month.
